Goaltender Akira Schmid, (number 40) does not allow a goal in this scene

The Swiss NHL players engaged on Monday night leave the ice without success.
Vegas Golden Knights goaltender Akira Schmid was given the nod again after a game on the bench. However, the Emmental native was unable to prevent his team’s fifth defeat in a row. The Knights lost 2:3 to the Chicago Blackhawks in overtime.
With 17 saves on 20 shots, Schmid had a save percentage of 85 percent. That is slightly below average. After 21 appearances this season, the 25-year-old has an average of 89.38 percent and 2.52 goals against.
Thanks to a strong start to the season, the Knights remain in the race for the play-off places and occupy fourth place in the Western Conference. However, eight defeats from the last nine games have seen the team drop back into broad midfield.
The New Jersey Devils with the Swiss trio of Nico Hischier, Timo Meier and Jonas Siegenthaler lost their home game against the favored Carolina Hurricanes 1:3. Nikolaj Ehlers, son of the coach Heinz Ehlers, who is well known in Switzerland, scored the opening goal for Carolina in the very first minute. New Jersey responded to the false start, also thanks to an assist from Jonas Siegenthaler. Captain Nico Hischier’s team was unable to find an answer to the visitors’ renewed lead.
The Dallas Stars also left the ice as losers. Without Lian Bichsel, who has been injured for a month, they lost to the Montreal Canadiens 3:4 after overtime.
