The Block fans have hit out at former The Bachelor star Bec Cvilikas after she hinted at a future stint on the renovation show.

Cvilikas, who appeared on Locky Gilbert’s 2020 season of dating show, ignited rumours of a possible crossover between the two reality shows after undergoing a renovation project with her fiancé, Kody Griggs.

After the star posted footage of her home renovation project, a friend asked in the comments if she was set to join an upcoming series of The Block.

“Maybe?! Thanks chicky,” she replied.

The Block fans were left unimpressed by a potential crossover and took to Reddit to air their frustration, making it clear they did not want the show to feature existing reality stars.

“Sounds terrible and undeserving,” one viewer fumed.

“Oh that’s starting to sound like all the American versions of these shows. Fill the contestants with reality TV people and that’s what they spend all their time banging on about,” another said.

“This is all for drama.”

Someone else pointed out the renovation series had already teamed up with Married At First Sight alumni, including former groom Dave Hand.

“The Block has been a MAFS collaboration for the last three or four seasons. They probably don’t feel the need to disguise the fact any more,” they wrote.

“Soon The Block will become a MAFS graduation ceremony. If couples stay together for 12 months they become contestants on The Block.”

Despite Cvilikas’s cryptic comment which fuelled the rumours of a crossover, the former Bachelor star revealed there were no plans arranged as of yet.

“They are, in fact, just rumours,” she confirmed to SkyNews.com.au.

“However, The Block is the one show that I’d actually probably do. As we all know, dating shows are now forever off the cards.

“My fiancé and I had such a great time building our  home, there was obviously stressful moments and a lot of mayhem in between but it made us closer, and we learnt a lot.

“Knowing what I know, I’d absolutely do it all again – audience or not!”

The former Bachelor star addressed the backlash, admitting she finds the criticism directed at reality stars “funny”.

“I find it quite funny how upset people get when shows cast ex reality contestants, honestly I think people just love to hate but deep down they know they’d be entertaining – they’ve done TV for a reason once before.”
