The UC Capitals and Sara Blicavs have mutually agreed to her release, allowing the forward to pursue a significant overseas opportunity.

While the club would have loved the 301 game veteran to continue with the Capitals, the club recognise the importance of the opportunity presented and fully support her decision.

Blicavs, who was averaging 12.8 points and 5.7 rebounds during her 12 games this season, has been a valued member of the Capitals program.

“We thank her for her contribution to the team and wish her every success in this next chapter of her career,” a Capitals spokesperson said.

The Caps are now working through next steps as they continue their push towards finals.

Canberra, who are 7-8 on the season, next travel to Sydney on Saturday to play the Flames.

Tickets to the Round 13 fixture at Quaycentre, which tips off at 3pm AEDT live on ESPN2 and 9Now, are still available here.
