1000-lb Sisters alum Tammy has finally taken a huge step forward as she goes for an interview for some volunteering activities, for the first time in her life. In an early premiere episode back in 2020, the TLC star reflected on her childhood, saying how she did not get much love and affection while growing up.
Tammy Slaton further pointed out how it was actually quite the opposite, as they were told that they were stupid and lazy. While talking about how new this is for her, Tammy said,
“I was too fat to do anything. I’ve never done anything. So it’s scary. So I think it’s good for me too to get out of my comfort zone.”

Tammy visited a cat shelter where she is all set to do some volunteering, as she said,
“I am nervous but also excited. This is my first job interview, and I wanna make a good impression. I don’t wanna say something stupid. I am glad one of the cats got on my lap. I hope it will help with my nerves and keep me calm.”
Alana, the volunteer coordinator, asks Tammy about some of her work experiences in the past. Tammy explained about her being morbidly obese in the past, while admitting to having zero experience in the past and wanting to start somewhere.
After hearing Tammy’s story of how she underwent a drastic weight loss surgery, the volunteer coordinator asked Tammy if she would be okay with doing the work that includes cleaning the litter box, taking the trash and other work. Tammy assured Alana that she would not have any problem with this work. Alana ended the interview as she told Tammy that she would let her if she were selected for the position.
Tammy opened up about her ongoing feud with Amy.
Tammy had earlier opened up about her fallout with her sister Amy while saying how their feud started back when she underwent her skin-removal surgery, Tammy recalled, saying,
“Last time I saw Amy, we got in this big argument,” the 39-year-old explained. “Bottom line is she up and left me in Pittsburgh. I tried to tell her how I felt, how she abandoned me, and she just flipped it and said I was bullying her and all this stuff.”
Amy shared her side of the story as she said,
“I wanted to tell her my side of things and have her be like, ‘Oh, I get why you left, Amanda can be a big bully,’” the 38-year-old explained. “But then she started being a b—h. I know my leaving early upset Tammy, but this is bigger than Pittsburgh—this is me telling you it’s not okay for you to treat me like this anymore.”
Tammy, however, was not on board with what Amy said about the bullying, as she said,
“I don’t know why she thinks all of us are bullying her. Do we tease each other? Yes,” she clarified in her own confessional. “Do we give her advice? Yes. Does she listen? Not really.”
