Cricket fans who’ve dreamt of batting like Sir Don Bradman can now give it a try, with the legend’s childhood home in New South Wales set to open for overnight stays through Airbnb for the very first time.

The Don lived at the house at 52 Shepherd Street in Bowral between the ages of three and 15, where he famously used a golf ball, a stump and an old water tank stand to hone his technique that would make him cricket’s greatest batsman.

The iconic water tank, central to Bradman’s story, has been carefully preserved for guests to experience.

“The water tank was restored quite a few years ago and done out of original old corrugated iron to replicate when Bradman actually played against the tank,” current owner Glen Haddon said.

“So it’s in fantastic condition and just been repainted.”
