Anthony Kim is back for LIV Golf’s 2026 season, and this time he has earned the right to be there.
The former star took one of three places available in the final round of the league’s promotions tournament in Florida on Sunday, with a closing one-under-par 69 enough for third on five under overall.
Canada’s Richard T Lee continued his dominant week, shooting a 65 to win on 11 under, five shots clear of Sweden’s Bjorn Hellgren, whose 64 matched Lee’s course record at Black Diamond Ranch.
The champion, who has three Asian Tour wins to his name and will be the first Canadian to play on the LIV tour, said the result had “not sunk in yet”, but he thought more of his countrymen should follow him to the tour and “make a team”.
Kim, meanwhile, had been away from golf for more than a decade before LIV offered a way back with a wild card in 2024. The American showed brief flashes of his previous brilliance over those two years, but not enough to avoid relegation at the end of last season.

“There were definitely low moments throughout those two years,” Kim said. “But I believe in myself more than anybody else believes in me, and I think that’s all that matters.
