Donovan Mitchell, a former Cardinal and current NBA star, has designed new uniforms for Louisville’s basketball teams, featuring his signature “Spida D” style.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville men’s and women’s basketball teams will sport new uniforms designed by current NBA star and former Cardinal Donovan Mitchell.

The uniforms include several distinct features – a black side panel on both sides of the jerseys and shorts with a spider web vinyl. It is a nod to Mitchell’s nickname “Spida D.”

Mitchell got his nickname because of his acrobatics on the court.

His custom logo appears on the jersey and shorts as well as the classic Dunking Cardinal.

The men’s basketball team will debut the Adidas Donovan Mitchell x Louisville collection Tuesday night as the Cards take on No. 16 Virginia at the KFC Yum! Center.
