The extension was unanimously supported, having been recommended by the club’s rugby committee and approved by the general committee.
Verbickas has played a central role in the ongoing development of the club’s rugby structure since being appointed in 2022.
A key area of focus has been improving the pathway from junior to senior rugby. Colts training has been aligned with the senior set-up, with the Colts now training weekly alongside the senior squad to support player progression.
He has also introduced an eight-week programme of specialist coaching sessions for the under-15s, under-16s, girls’ teams and the Colts, delivered by himself and senior players, which has been well received.
The club supports his vision for coach development and shares the ambition of having RFU-qualified coaches at all levels, with the aim of becoming the “go to” club in the area.
Despite an unprecedented injury crisis this season, the first team remains in the top half of the table and competitive in all matches, allowing the club to look ahead with confidence.
