It might not be all over for Adolescence after all.
Even though the smash hit Netflix show was a limited series — meaning its intended as a standalone season – speaking backstage at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, its co-creator and star Stephen Graham suggested he and co-creator Jack Thorne were mulling over a return.
On Sunday night, fresh from collecting the Golden Globe for Male Actor in a Limited Series, Anthology of TV Movie, Graham was asked about the chances of a second season, which Deadline first reported was a possibility back in April. Graham replied, “I cannot answer that question because it’s somewhere in the deep recesses of my mind and Jack’s mind, and we’ll pull it out in three or four years, so stay tuned.”
In April, Plan B co-presidents Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner told Deadline they were speaking to director Philip Barantini about the “next iteration” of the show. Gardner also said they are thinking about how they can “widen the aperture, stay true to its DNA [and] not be repetitive,” but she did not wish to reveal too much.

In Adolescence, Graham plays Eddie Miller, a father who is blindsided when his 13 year-old son Jamie (Owen Cooper) commits a terrible crime. Newcomer Cooper won in his supporting role category, along with Erin Doherty who won in the female supporting category for her role as therapist Briony Ariston too. The series earned a total of five Globes nominations, including Best Limited Series. At the time of writing the latter category’s winner was yet to be determined.
