UFC legend Daniel Cormier has responded to Jon Jones’s harsh first comments about their time coaching together on ALF Reality 3.
Daniel Cormier and Jon Jones’s legendary UFC tenures will forever be linked after their two epic showdowns in the Octagon during their careers. While Jones won both matchups against Cormier, the rivalry also featured plenty of heated moments, including a famous media day brawl on the floor of the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Cormier and Jones reignited their feud as coaches on ALF Reality 3, a reality television series filmed in Thailand. The two UFC rivals coached opposite each other and trained some of the top MMA prospects in the region in a to-be-released season.
Despite previously calling for a ceasefire with Cormier, Jones recently pivoted on his earlier cordial stance towards his former foe. Jones recently called Cormier an ‘a—–‘ and a ‘d——‘ and scolded Cormier for his alleged treatment of some fighters and coaches during the show.

During an interview on The Ariel Helwani Show, Cormier responded to Jones’s harsh remarks.
“Maybe I’m all those things to him, but here’s the deal: we were around each other every single day, and we were cordial,” Cormier said of Jones.
“There were times when Jon and I actually laughed at stuff, but if I didn’t have to be around him, I’m not going to voluntarily be around him. Why would I want that? I don’t harbor the emotions from the past that I did with him. I really don’t. But we spoke negatively about each other’s families. We had a nasty, nasty [situation]. He cheated constantly. I don’t have to let him off the hook or be his friend.
“That would be just going ‘Everything you did is good’. It’s just not! I can do my thing, but I don’t have to be your friend,” Cormier continued. “I’m a man, and it is what it is. Happy endings and fairy tales are for kids to go to bed at night…you don’t have to be friends with everyone you had a problem with. I can do a show with him, want to beat him, and we don’t have to be friends. You don’t need to have fairy tale endings to everything in life. Life ain’t fair.”
Jones announced his retirement from MMA last summer, but has since teased a potential comeback at the White House event later this year. Cormier retired in 2020 and entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2022.
