Sankranti 2026 turned special for Telugu cinema as Annapurna Studios completed 50 years since its founding. Legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao established the studio on Sankranti in 1976, playing a key role in shifting the Telugu film industry’s base from Madras to Hyderabad.
Marking the golden jubilee, Nagarjuna Akkineni shared a post on social media, recalling Nagarjuna stated that his father’s vision has been fulfilled, noting that Annapurna Studios has grown into one of the premier film studios in the country. He highlighted the studio’s contribution in providing direct and indirect employment to thousands of people over the years.
Expressing gratitude on the milestone occasion, Nagarjuna thanked the staff of Annapurna Studios and the Telugu film industry for their continued support, acknowledging their role in sustaining the studio’s journey over five decades. Naga Chaitanya, Sobhita Dhulipala and other family members come in attendance.
