The Perth Bears have continued to methodically shape their inaugural NRL roster, confirming the signing of Luke Laulilii from the Wests Tigers ahead of the 2027 season.
Laulilii has joined the new franchise on a two-year deal running until the end of 2028, becoming the 13th player to formally commit to the Bears as preparations accelerate for their long-awaited return to the top grade.
At just 19 years of age, Laulilii is the youngest recruit secured by the expansion club so far, highlighting Perth’s intent to balance experienced heads with long-term development prospects. Despite his age, the talented outside back has already gained a taste of first-grade football, making nine NRL appearances for the Wests Tigers.
Laulilii also comes from strong rugby league stock, with his older brother Kit Laulilii currently on the books at the Tigers, further underlining the family’s presence within the professional ranks.
For the Bears, the signing adds another developing backline option to a growing list of recruits that now spans multiple positions and experience levels. With Mal Meninga overseeing recruitment strategy, Perth have steadily built depth across their squad while avoiding the need for headline-heavy spending early in the process.
With their NRL entry now less than 12 months away, each addition brings the Bears closer to finalising the foundations of their 2027 roster.
