>> The Saint Francis men’s tennis team dropped a 5–2 decision to Navy in its season opener Saturday evening in Annapolis, Maryland.

>> Sophomore Kevin Titus Suresh claims his 11th win

DOUBLES 

In doubles action, the duo of sophomore Beau Welker and sophomore Blake Lorenzo secured the only doubles point in tonight’s contest, confidently defeating their opponents, 6-2.

SINGLES 

In singles action, former NEC Rookie of the Year and 2025 NEC Singles Champion Suresh maintained his winning mentality as he entered the new year, battling back in the third set to defeat his opponent, 7-6, 3-6, 6-3. This victory marked his team-leading 11th win of the season. Meanwhile, freshman Mario Beckles secured his sixth win of the year with a dominant two-set victory, defeating his opponent, 6-2,6-2. While senior Gregory Troyan couldn’t clinch the victory, he put on a marathon match, taking his opponent to three sets, the last two of which were tiebreakers.

NEXT TIME OUT 

The men’s tennis team returns to action next Saturday against the Penn State Nittany Lions at the Sarni Tennis Center in University Park, Pennsylvania, with a 3 p.m. start.
