The NRL season is only six weeks from kick-off – and we can’t wait for the action to start.

Of course, most clubs will be sporting fancy new jerseys, and supporters will be asked to part with their hard-earned to wear their team’s colours.

We’ve run the rule over every franchise’s home and away jumper – from the garish and grim, to the retro and sharp, so you can get a better idea of what you’ll be forking out for.

Wests Tigers nut Tyson Jackson and diehard Cronulla fan Jack Rothfield have put aside their biases to come up with the definitive list of the best and worst jerseys of 2026.

See where your club’s jumpers rank.

35. Dolphins away

What we would do to get the vanilla Coke design back! Alas, we have this mess instead. The gold is a sickly shade and the murky shadow chevrons only add to the unsightliness.

34 and 33. North Queensland Cowboys home and away

Barring perfect sponsor integration, these jerseys are practically the same, which defeats the whole purpose of having different jumpers that won’t clash with opposition teams.

32. Melbourne Storm home

More like a supporters’ T-shirt than a bonafide footy jersey the likes of Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes will steam about in.

31. Gold Coast Titans home

The traditional Gold Coast yellow takes a back seat, as every shade of blue known to mankind takes over. Inspired by the 2010 jersey, the prominent gambling logo once again sends out a message that the Titans will be a lottery on the field.

30. Parramatta Eels away

With the four royal blue bands and James Hardie logo, this all-gold kit harkens back to the Eels’ glory days of the 1980s, but retreating into their storied past is a favourite Parramatta pastime and this jumper won’t do them any favours.

29. Penrith Panthers home

The 60th anniversary logo is a brilliant design but the rest of the jumper offers nothing we haven’t really seen before.

28. Canberra Raiders away

Looks like it was designed using crayons – it’s that plain and uninventive – but its simplicity has a childlike quality young fans will appreciate.

27. Newcastle Knights away

We’re getting severe AFL vertical stripe vibes, but this jersey is a homage to the Knights’ 2001 premiership winning jumper, which will make all Novocastrians happy.

26. Gold Coast Titans away

Sun, sand and water are what we think of when we imagine the Gold Coast and this jersey delivers in spades.

25. St George Illwarra Dragons away

Very Illawarra Steelers, this jersey will have fans wishing Rod Wishart and Paul McGregor were still tearing up at the ‘Gong.

24. Cronulla Sharks away

Same as their away jersey last year, it has echoes of their 1997 Super League kit, which got them all the way to the gf.

23. Parramatta Eels home

A throwback to 1986 and the triumphant era of Cronin, Sterling and Kenny, Parra fans will be hoping this classic design heralds a new premiership-winning epoch.

22. St George Illawarra Dragons home

You can’t go wrong with the traditional red V, but nor can you do much with it, which pretty much means it’s the same year after year.

21. Dolphins home

The gold isn’t exactly glistening and the sponsor’s name on the sleeves and chest really is overpowering, but all up this isn’t too bad.

20. Newcastle Knights home

Did we say the Knights’ jersey designers are riffing on the 2001 premiership winning side? Here’s more proof. But can Dylan Brown be the new Andrew Johns?

19. South Sydney Rabbitohs home

The MG branding catches the eye, and the classic myrtle and cardinal hoops work as only they can, but is it time to revert to the easier-on-the-eye white rabbit?

18. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs home

Pretty much the same as last season’s effort, there’s not much here to offend the Bulldogs faithful, although the sponsor’s name really does a hatchet job on the famous double V.

17. Canberra Raiders home

This is international sporting brand UnderAmour’s first NRL jersey, and it’s a cracker. If it carried the famous Milk logo it would be deadset number one on our list.

16. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles home

It’s the mid-1990s all over again! The famous Pepsi Manly jumper, minus the Pepsi and (sadly) Toovs, Cliffy et al. The 80-year anniversary logo is a gem.

15. Penrith Panthers away

The Pink Panther theme has been done to death, but Penrith are still banking on this neat design to get them through difficult away assignments.

14. Cronulla Sharks home

Celebrating their 2016 premiership, this Sharks jersey conjures up images of the unbreakable Paul Gallen charging at quivering defensive lines.

13. South Sydney Rabbitohs away

Nostalgia rules with the return of the legendary Minty-inspired jersey from the 1980s. Ziggy Niszczot eat your heart out!

12. Wests Tigers home

Retina-burning orange with claw marks on the chest. Hopefully their on-field play will pack just as much punch.

11. New Zealand Warriors home

Someone once said “blue and green should never be seen”, but add a dash of red and wow! This iconic design will have the Warriors dazzling on the paddock.

10. Brisbane Broncos home

Same as their 2025 strip but with a new logo that controversially omits the word “Broncos”. It won them a premiership last year, so we can’t hate on it too much.

9. Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs away

The inverse of the home jersey, we can see Burto and Critta running amok in it on away trips.

8. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles away

This retro classic evokes the late ’70s “Silvertails” era, when the Sea Eagles and Western Suburbs “Fibros” would tear strips off each other.

7. Melbourne Storm away

Better than their home kit, it has a subtle underlying pattern that represents Melbourne’s landscape, which is a nifty touch. Sponsors are integrated perfectly.

6. North Queensland Cowboys alternate

Their home and away kits were average, but the club’s alternate, a throwback to the 1995 Sevens has a summery, tropical feel fans will love.

5. New Zealand Warriors away

A veritable work of art, except the sponsor’s target in the middle of the chest will give eager opposition tacklers something to aim at.

4. Wests Tigers away

With all their warring factions, any new Tigers jersey invites controversy, but the addition of grey to their colour palette is a nice neutral touch.

3. Brisbane Broncos away

It’s seen as controversial but Brisbane’s away jersey is super sharp. Sure, it doesn’t scream “Broncos!” like the home jersey, but this all-navy affair will add extra gravitas to their back-to-back premiership pursuit.

2. Penrith Panthers alternate

A late entry, but everything about this jersey is perfect. The collar gives a retro vibe and the rest blends magnificently.

1. Sydney Roosters home

With Adidas on board and the addition of three stripes down the torso, the Tricolours are on a winner. The likes of Teddy and DCE will look extra smart and tapered as they probe opposition defences next year.
