Until normal transmission resumes, WIN News Bendigo will be available to viewers on 9Now.
Bendigo viewers impacted by the current bushfire-related television outage are now be able to access their local news, with WIN Network and Nine working together to make WIN News Bendigo available via 9Now.
Until normal transmission resumes, WIN News Bendigo will be available to people in the Bendigo TV market as video on demand via 9Now. The Bendigo bulletin will be available each weekday from 6.30pm on 9Now.
The move follows catastrophic bushfire damage to the Mt Alexander transmission infrastructure, which has resulted in free-to-air television services being unavailable across large parts of the Bendigo market. Restoration of transmission services is expected to take time, with access and safety considerations continuing to impact repair efforts.
WIN Corporation Chief Executive Officer Andrew Lancaster said, “Local news matters especially during emergencies like we see now. In the last week, WIN News bulletins across our network is covering bushfires in Victoria and NSW as well as floods and a cyclone in Queensland. By working closely with Nine to make WIN News Bendigo available on 9Now, we’re ensuring our viewers in the impacted Bendigo area can continue to access the information they rely on, despite the transmission challenges caused by the bushfires.”

All regional broadcasters are continuing to work collaboratively with transmission partners and emergency authorities to assess damage at the Mt Alexander site and progress solutions to restore free-to-air services as safely and quickly as possible.
9Now is available on smart TVs, mobile devices, tablets and computers. No aerial is required.
