Move over Robert Irwin, you’ve got some competition!
On the weekend, in Irwin’s homestate of Queensland, there was a lookalike contest for locals on the Sunshine Coast with a cool $500 up for grabs for the winner.
A hilarious crowd of people wearing khaki and holding fake snakes and blow up crocodiles showed up to the event, with Caloundra father Ben Marshall being named the winner of the contest.

In a post-win interview, Marshall said for the last few years or so he’s had people confuse him for Robert Irwin, who is the son of the late Crocodile Hunter. 
“People always come up to me saying, ‘You look like Robert’ or, ‘Are you Robert?’ It’s just a regular thing!” he admitted.
“I feel great, I was up all night practicing my dance moves… the ‘crikey’. I’m glad it paid off in the end!”

To win the top prize, Marshall showed up in a khaki outfit and a fake snake toy around his neck, with a charming smile on his face.

Lookalike contests are now ever so popular, with a lookalike contest taking place in New York in 2024 for actor Timothée Chalamet.

He recently celebrated his 22nd birthday, with his mother Terri Irwin and his sister Bindi paying tribute to him on Instagram with their millions of followers.
