Is Troy Aikman crossing into enemy territory with his latest move?
The legendary NFL quarterback, who won three Super Bowls with the Dallas Cowboys, is currently working for another franchise. The Miami Dolphins hired Aikman, now an announcer at ESPN, to help them with their GM and head coaching search. But should Aikman, who spent his entire career in Dallas, be working for a rival NFL franchise?

NFL fans are debating, but mostly defending, Aikman’s “controversial” move heading into the offseason.

“How do you guys feel about Troy Aikman helping out the Fins?” a Reddit user asked Dallas Cowboys fans.
“It kinda feels odd knowing him to be a lifelong Cowboy assisting the Dolphins in their search for a GM.”
NFL fans, though, are mostly defending the move.
Aikman is well within his right to help another team
Aikman has made it clear that he would help the Cowboys, too, but Jerry Jones isn’t wanting it.

“I’m fine with it. Jerry doesn’t want anyone’s help, he’s convinced (despite 30 years of failure) that he knows what he’s doing,” one wrote.
“I bet he would help the Cowboys do the same if they asked. It doesn’t bother me at all,” one fan added.
“Troy has said before, that for years he has wanted to be an NFL GM for the Cowboys. He thinks he can (& desperately wants to) help bring the Cowboys back to glory, but he knows that will never happen as long as Jerry’s around. He also said/knows likely that he will eventually have to go to another team. I think he’s starting to step in that direction finally,” one added.

“Troy’s a smart guy and it’s a cool opportunity for him. I’d welcome seeing him take on a role like this in Dallas but we all know that isn’t happening,” one fan added.
