UPDATE: Police have revoked an earlier emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) at Bellbird Park.

Initial information indicates shortly after 2.30pm police were called to Jones Road following reports of an armed person sighted in the area.

Due to public safety concerns, an emergency declaration was made shortly after 3pm.

Around 4.30pm police took a man into custody.

A crime scene was subsequently declared at the Jones Road address.

The emergency declaration was revoked at 5.07pm.

There are no reports of injuries.

Investigations into the incident remain ongoing.

The PSPA was declared at 3.07pm following reports of an armed person in the proximity of Jones Road and Redbanks Plains Road.

The emergency declaration encompasses Jones Road, Redbank Plains Road, Jansen Road, and Johnston Street.

Residents in these streets are urged to remain indoors and the public are advised to avoid the area.
