Spoilers for The Traitors follow.

The Traitors fans have reacted to the intense final moments of season four, which saw Traitors Rachel Duffy and Stephen Libby defy expectation and split the massive jackpot. Despite Rachel’s multiple near-misses in the eleventh hour, and plenty of speculation that they would turn on each other, the pair held firm.

The final scenes of the episode, which even saw host Claudia Winkleman becoming tearful, created quite the reaction on social media.

“Despite a Traitor win, this is the most beautiful ending… so wholesome and such a stark contrast to the endgame in series 2,” said season one contestant Rayan on X. “That is the most perfect ending to #TheTraitors,” another viewer agreed.

“We actually got a deserved Traitors win,” said another viewer. “No backstabbing, no useless Faithfuls somehow getting the money. Just Traitors supporting each other and choosing trust over extra money.”

“This ending is SUCH good news for the future of the show. To have two Traitors make it to the end together will completely change the psychology of future Traitors in the turret. Fantastic, brilliant, amazing, I could not be more pleased!” wrote another viewer.

“Genuinely so happy, they’re my favourite Traitors of all time. They stuck to their word from the start, had the BEST reactions and deserve it fully. They both played an absolute BLINDER,” read another of the many, many posts.

Despite their defeat, eliminated Faithfuls Jack Butler, Faraaz Noor and Jade Scott still had their fans, with the latter’s tearful exit in particular proving sad for several viewers.

“Oh seeing Jade emotional just [makes] me sad, she truly had a awful experience playing #thetraitors,” one post reads.

“That’s so sad that Jade doesn’t get to have her moment and tell them all that they were wrong and she was indeed a Faithful! #TheTraitors,” another fan said.

That’s it for another season, but the Irish version of the show will be on BBC iPlayer this weekend, while the next iteration of the celebrity spin-off will return later in the year.

The Traitors airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
