Bangladesh T20 World Cup row: The International Cricket Council (ICC) announce that Scotland will replace Bangladesh at ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Scotland replace Bangladesh in Group C, joining England, Italy, Nepal and the West Indies.
It’s been exactly three weeks since the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to drop Mustafizur Rahman from their IPL 2026 roster. KKR fell in line, kicking off a tug-of-war so big that it’s now set to impact the entire world of cricket.
Bangladesh refused to travel to India due to security concerns and has been asked to move its matches elsewhere. The ICC has brushed aside the concerns, while saying its hands are tied with less than a couple of weeks to go for the tournament. BCB has shown no sign of relenting and barring a miracle, Scotland are set to take Bangladesh’s place in the tournament.
