IT was once seized due to a Supreme Court injunction, but now this V8 Supercar Ford Falcon has ended up back in the hands of its former driver!

As revealed in V8 Sleuth Magazine Issue 1 – available here to order online and in Australian newsagents until early February 2026 – former V8 privateer Cameron McLean has re-acquired his old team’s car!

Built by Paragon Motorsport (of which McLean was a partner) for the 2001 V8 Supercar season, the car was parked mid-practice at that year’s Queensland 500 enduro after an injunction was slapped on the team by sponsor Greenfield Mowers.

He last raced the car at Winton in September 2001, though acquired the car a few years ago and has returned it to its former Greenfield livery. A former Dick Johnson Racing engine is under the bonnet.

“It came up for sale a few years ago and I managed to snap it up and it’s sitting in my shed,” says McLean.

“Adam Peasley, who used to work for Mark McLaughlin out at Power Torque Engines, used to come away and maintain the engines for us at the races.

“Through racing dirt track out at Willowbank with the kids I heard from someone who said their father-in-law had one of my old cars.

“I thought it was an old Fiat or an Alfa, but it was the 2001 Falcon. We confirmed it was the right car, went and had a look, took Adam around, and we snapped it up.

“It’s the only car that Paragon as a team built, so it’s pretty cool to have ended up with it. I’ve sort of split the sponsors on it, a leg on each side of the fence, neutral ground!”

McLean opens up further on the 2001 Greenfield/Queensland Raceway situation in the feature article in the magazine, as well as his deal to join Glenn Seton’s Ford Tickford Racing earlier than year that went awry, his time in Volvo Super Tourers and much, much more.

A full feature on McLean is included in V8 Sleuth Magazine Issue 1, now available to purchase online here via the V8 Sleuth Superstore or in newsagents around Australia until early February.
