The South Carolina State Fair is hiring 500 temporary workers for its 12-day October event.
COLUMBIA, S.C. — The South Carolina State Fair is gearing up for its highly anticipated 12-day run from October 8–19 and is now hiring nearly 500 temporary workers to help bring the state’s largest annual event to life.
“With nearly 500 temporary positions available each fall, we’re proud that many of our workers return year after year,” said Nancy Smith, general manager of the S.C. State Fair. “It’s a fun, welcoming environment where employees become part of something bigger — supporting a nonprofit that gives back across the state.”
Positions are available in several areas, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the iconic fall tradition. In addition to roles during the fair, some jobs begin before the event to help with intake for competitions like baked goods and crafts, while others continue after the fair for returns processing.
