Amanda Anisimova has beaten Xinyu Wang 6-7, 6-4 on John Cain Arena, paving the way to an all-American quarter-finals clash.

Winning the match with an ace, the fourth seeded American let out a look of relief before smiling and waving to the crowd. It will be Anisimova’s first quarter-finals showdown here at Melbourne Park.

She will face sixth seed Jessica Pegula, who won against 2025 champion Madison Keys earlier today.

The 24-year-old has been on a hot streak recently, making the final at both Wimbledon and the US Open last year.

In a post-match interview, Anisimova thanked the crowd for their infectious energy, even though a lot of the cheers were for her opponent.

“They [the fans] are so loud, they make the energy so fun,” she said.

“I really appreciate everyone sitting through the heat.”
