The Hurricanes approach the 2026 Super Rugby Pacific season with a roster shaped by high-profile returns and positional depth across the backline.

Jordie Barrett headlines the squad after completing his sabbatical with Leinster, joined by the return of Josh Moorby and the arrival of lock Warner Dearns, adding experience and versatility to key areas of the team.

Barrett’s return comes with recent injury context. While playing for the All Blacks in November, he suffered a high ankle sprain along with a minor knee injury, a factor that forms part of the Hurricanes’ roster landscape entering the season.

Alongside Barrett, the squad also includes established playmakers such as Cam Roigard and Brett Cameron, reinforcing depth across the spine.

Heading into 2026, the Hurricanes’ roster remains under the guidance of head coach Clark Laidlaw, with Brad Shields and Asafo Aumua captaining the side.

Based in Wellington at Sky Stadium, the roster composition reflects a group built around experienced internationals, returning talent, and sufficient depth to navigate a full Super Rugby Pacific campaign.
