Police are investigating after a man was seriously injured in a crash in Victoria’s West Gippsland region overnight.
A silver Holden Barina rolled down an embankment on the Princes Freeway in Drouin near Francis Avenue, at 11.50pm on Friday.
The driver and sole occupant of the car became trapped in the vehicle, which caught on fire.
Police and a member of the public stopped to assist the driver and managed to pull him from the burning car.
The 48-year-old man was flown to hospital with serious injuries.
Witnesses reported seeing the Holden driving next to another vehicle in the Drouin CBD shortly before the crash.
Police are asking for the driver of the second vehicle to come forward.
Detectives are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
