When Larry Fink, the founder, chairman, and chief executive of the world’s largest investment fund, BlackRock, says out loud at Davos what an increasing number of power sector people are saying quietly about data centres, the growth of artificial intelligence and the need for dispatchable power, it’s a clear sign the energy and climate debate is changing.
As Fink noted: “You cannot rely solely on intermittent sources like wind and solar. You need dispatchable power because these data centres cannot simply turn on and off.”
