Yes, this includes a Smart Play cantina band

Are there ever enough Legos? Of course not, what a silly question. It was just a couple of weeks ago that Lego introduced its Smart Play system at CES, setting a course for a future in which the brick builds play back with you. Smart Play will be launching on March 1 with a trio of Star Wars sets that include everything you’ll need to pump up your Lego collection — including the new and very coveted Smart Brick that powers the new features. Those aren’t the only sets, though, as the toy giant has announced five more Star Wars sets, though there’s one major difference between them and what was announced prior.

The five new sets are all Smart Play compatible, rather than all-in-one sets. While they come with Smart Minifigures and Smart Tags, they do not include the Smart Brick to bring it all to life. So, while you can still build and play with them, getting your hands on a Smart Brick is needed to bring them to life with lights and sounds. And when it comes to the Mos Eisley Cantina set — with a working cantina band — you’re going to need that brick.

The new sets are available for preorder now. As with the all-in-one sets previously announced, these will be available on March 1. You can check out images of the new sets below.

While the new sets certainly do expand the upcoming Smart Play Star Wars collection quite a bit, you’ll still have to invest in one of the all-in-one packages if you want to take advantage of the new features. Hopefully, Lego doesn’t wait too long before putting the brick on sale by itself, so builders can get to integrating it into their builds as early as possible.

Lego Smart Play sets will arrive in stores on March 1.
