The Sedins still got game.
Vancouver Canucks fans already knew that with stories of the Sedins’ legendary fitness making the rounds since they retired in 2018.
And, with the Canucks severely lacking talent and centre depth, it’s fair to wonder, could they still suit up for the Canucks?
Well, their performance for the Canucks at a game on Monday night didn’t dispel that notion.
Henrik Sedin, Daniel Sedin, and several other former Canucks played a hockey game versus the cast of Shorsey on Monday night at Rogers Arena. This was part of the Shorsey Classic, where characters from the hit TV show have been travelling around and facing off against alumni from other NHL teams.
With some younger Canucks fans seeing the Sedins on the ice in person for the first time, the most legendary twins in sport didn’t disappoint.
Henrik Sedin didn’t score many shootout goals during his career, but he looked like a natural on this one.

Not only that, but he did so while wearing a helmet with Brock Boeser’s No. 6 on it, just one day after the Canucks’ winger suffered a suspected concussion.
The chemistry between Henrik and Daniel hasn’t dissipated either, as they made Geoff Courtnall look like the latest triplet on their line.
The Sedins are still so good. Great finish by Geoff Courtnall. Pure nostalgia tonight. pic.twitter.com/6m9CQ42TZc

While the Sedins were the most notable players to suit up, a plethora of other former Canucks fan favourites were in the lineup.
That included Cliff Ronning, who scored a goal of his own with a slapper.

It also included Kyle Wellwood, who showed off some silky moves in front for a backhand goal.

Former fan favourite Eddie Lack tended the net alongside Kirk McLean, and he made a few key saves of his own.
Other notable Canucks to suit up included Chris Higgins, Greg Adams, Adrian Aucoin, Mike Sillinger and Nathan LaFayette.
However, the most nostalgic part of the evening for fans was getting the chance to experience Sedinery at least one more time.
This was the final stop for the Shorsey Classic, as the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs lost 10-9 to Canucks Alumni at Rogers Arena. The cast of Shorsey previously played games in Calgary and Edmonton as part of their tour.
