Fans are still eagerly awaiting a full-length trailer for the fourth season of the show. However, we were treated to our first, albeit tiny, teaser for the upcoming season which gave a brief look out our new lovers, Benedict and Sophie.
“With each passing season, one is known to experience plenty of ups and downs. So then we must ask ourselves: do we rise to the occasion? As always, time, and this author, will tell,” we hear the voice of Lady Whistledown echo as this season’s love interests pass one another on a set of stairs, brushing fingers as forbidden lovers do. What Is Bridgerton Season 4 About?
Netflix has confirmed early on that season four of the show will focus on Benedict. The streaming giant broke the news via Instagram, which ended in a hint to the original novels, where Benedict falls in love with a mystery woman at a ball.
If season four follows the books, the plot will see Benedict fall in love with Sophie Beckett, the illegitimate daughter of an earl who has been made to be a servant by her stepmother.
The whole thing is very Cinderella-esque, with the pair meeting at a masquerade after which Benedict is determined to discover his mysterious new love’s true identity.
The official logline reads: “The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
