Former Philadelphia Eagles player Emmanuel Acho gave controversial advice to Shedeur Sanders after the Cleveland Browns agreed to hire Todd Monken to replace Kevin Stefanski as head coach. Monken spent the last three seasons as the Baltimore Ravens’ offensive coordinator, helping Lamar Jackson win his second MVP award.
This will be Monken’s first head-coaching experience in the NFL, and it is already met with resistance. During Wednesday’s episode of “Speakeasy,” Acho questioned why Sanders should listen to Monken, given the coach’s lack of experience as a head coach.

“Any expectation for Shedeur Sanders under Todd Monken, I believe will lead to disappointment. There is nothing about Todd Monken as a head coach that should get you excited,” Acho said. “As an offensive coordinator, you could say Lamar Jackson had an MVP season under Todd Monken. And, as an offensive coordinator, Lamar Jackson had 41 touchdowns and four interceptions under Todd Monken. As an offensive coordinator, you can make arguments under Todd arguments. Under Todd Monken, Stetson Bennett won two national championships at Georgia.
“But, as a head coach, no, nothing about Todd Monken as a head man gets me excited. … How is Todd Monken going to command that locker room, command that group of men? Also, if I’m Shedeur or anybody in that locker room, why am I listening to Todd Monken? What have you won on an NFL level as a head coach? … I don’t even have expectations for Shedeur under Todd Monken, because I believe any expectations I would have, he would not meet.”
Todd Monken decision upset DC Jim Schwartz
Todd Monken’s joining the Cleveland Browns as their new head coach raised eyebrows within the franchise, and not with Shedeur Sanders. Defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz, who interviewed for the job, took issue with Monken’s hiring.

NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported on Wednesday that Schwartz bid farewell to people in the building and stated he was “done” with the team.
The situation is still developing, but it seems that Schwartz has made his decision. This could be detrimental to the defense, as players like Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward love playing for Schwartz.
