“Crime 101” UK Gala Screening - Arrivals

Let’s cut to the chase: Barry Keoghan has some funky new hair. Keoghan appeared at the premiere of Crime 101 last night sporting what can only be described as a true mop top, complete with a Warped Tour side-bang swoop.

Blessedly, this is not a sign of Obama-era men’s haircuts coming back. There is actually a much simpler explanation. The actor has already begun filming Sam Mendes’s massive four-movie Beatles project, in which Keoghan is playing Ringo Starr. As such, he needs to look like this:

In that regard, he’s knocked it out of the park. Keoghan’s fellow Beatles, on the other hand, do not seem to be as committed to the hair acting as he is. On Thursday, the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts shared the first images from the four biopics, which are all getting released on the same day in 2028. (Yes, you read that correctly.) In the stills, it looks like Harris Dickinson (John Lennon) and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) have both opted to go with a wig. Meanwhile, it seems like Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney) lucked out and just had to take a flat iron to his preexisting bangs situation.

And then there’s Keoghan in what appears to be his all-natural helmet hair.

The bad news for Keoghan stans is that this situation is not going to get better anytime soon. Even though the sneak peek indicates the movies will cover every Fab Four era, the truth is that Ringo never had a good haircut. Keoghan is basically going to be in hair jail for the next year, and it’s very possible that this is the high point.
