Notre Dame football got great news when 2027 quarterback commit Teddy Jarrard decided to reclassify to the 2026 class.

He’ll officially sign with the Irish next week, as there still have been teams trying to flip him, but it doesn’t look like there are any worries. More good news with Jarrard is that ESPN named him as having the “most NFL upside” of any quarterback in his class.

The list was comprised by Craig Haubert and Tom Luginbill, as the said that “age and development are on Jarrard’s side” with the move. They compare his physical attributes to current USC quarterback Jayden Maiava, and noted that he could take a similar path to the Notre Dame starting job as CJ Carr.

Notre Dame will have to be patient with him, and he knows that the plan at the moment. Jarrard, depending on how long Carr is in South Bend, could eventually take over the job and produce similar early results. It’s great to see that not only are the Irish high on him, that ESPN is as well.
