Allison, Schremp, Woodson highlight festivities with two honors apiece

DES MOINES, Iowa – The 2025 Drake University football team put the finishing touches on its third consecutive PFL championship season with the 127th annual Channing Smith Banquet on Saturday.
 
A trio of seniors in Sean Allison, Collin Schremp, and Luke Woodson were all honored twice while three other individuals received team recognition.

Allison was given the team’s Johnny Bright Most Valuable Player Award and was one of four recipients of the Al Byers Team Captain Award. Allison was also among several honorees listed on the Pioneer Football League All-Conference teams, was one of three Bulldogs celebrated for winning a PFL Player of the Week honor throughout the year, and was lauded for his appointment as PFL Defensive Player of the Year.

Woodson and Schremp also received Al Byers Team Captain Awards while the latter was honored as the Gene Schultz Award winner and former recognized with the Paul Morrison “All In” Award.

 

Veteran defensive lineman Jacob Auen was given the Bill Charles “Always Fight” Award while Nathan VanDeWoestyne was the final recipient of the Al Byers Team Captain Award.

Freshman linebacker Reed Anderson was applauded as one of the Bulldogs’ hardest workers with the George Sypniewski Scout Team Player of the Year.
