Police have charged a man after a 44-year-old woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after allegedly being assaulted at a home in suburban Perth overnight.
Paramedics found the injured woman outside an address on Teakwood Avenue, Woodlands, in Perth’s north at about 1am today.
Police said the woman had sustained a “serious” abdominal injury.
“[She] was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for medical treatment of life-threatening injuries,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.
A 36-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics for injuries to his hands.
“It is believed all parties are known to each other and there is no ongoing risk to the community,” the spokesperson said.
Charges laid
On Saturday afternoon, police said a 30-year-old man who was arrested at a nearby home had been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
The man has also been charged with criminal damage or destruction of property in relation to a separate incident at a Woodvale pharmacy on January 23.
The 30-year-old remains in custody after bail was refused and is due to face court in Perth on Sunday.
