Taylor Swift is not up for any awards at the 2026 Grammys. That’s because her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, was released after the eligibility period. In total, the pop star has won 14 Grammy Awards and has been nominated 58 times.

2025 was a big year for Taylor Swift. After cheering on Travis Kelce at the Super Bowl, she (finally) repurchased her masters, got engaged, and became the highest-grossing live music artist of all time thanks to the Eras Tour. Finally, on October 3, she dropped her 12th studio album: The Life of a Showgirl. Despite the latter achievement, however, Swift isn’t nominated for any Grammy Awards in 2026.

So, what gives? Turns out there’s a simple reason for Swift’s lack of recognition this year: she released her album after the eligibility period, which ended on August 30. For the 68th annual Grammy Awards, only music that came out between August 31, 2024 and August 30, 2025 was eligible for nomination. Thus, fans of The Life of a Showgirl will have to wait until 2027 to see if the album receives any recognition from the Recording Academy.

That said, Swift is still expected to make an appearance at the Crypto.com Arena come February 1. Since her Grammys debut back in 2008, the pop star has only missed the award show a handful of times; regardless of her trophy count, she never fails to make a splash on the red carpet. Most recently, she shared a poignant moment on stage with Beyoncé after presenting her with the award for Best Country Album at the 67th annual ceremony.

Beyoncé, who made history by becoming the first Black woman to win the award, told the audience she was “in shock.”

“I’d like to thank all of the incredible country artists that accepted this album,” she added. “We worked so hard on it. I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists, and I just wanna encourage people to do what they’re passionate about and to stay persistent.”

Though Swift didn’t win any of her own awards that year, she triumphed in 2024 when she won Album of the Year for Midnights. She is the only female solo artist to win the award more than once.

“For me, the award is the work,” the “Love Story” singer said at the time. “All I want to do is keep being able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy. It makes me unbelievably blown away that it makes some people happy who voted for this award too. All I want to do is keep doing this.”

And, as for The Life of a Showgirl, Swift has had plenty to celebrate where her latest release is concerned. The project is the fastest-selling album of all time in the U.S. and spent 12 weeks atop the Billboard 200 chart.

“I’ll never forget how excited I was in 2006 when my first album sold 40,000 copies in its first week,” Swift wrote shortly after its release last October. “…Here we are all these years later and a hundred times that many people showed up for me this week. I have 4 million thank you’s I want to send to the fans, and 4 million reasons to feel even more proud of this album than I already was…I’ll cherish this feeling forever. Just wow.”
