Titans head coach Josh Hannay and director of football Scott Sattler continue to make shrewd future-oriented moves, with news the club has locked in gun schoolboy hooker Jai Bilish until the end of 2030.

Currently completing Year 12 the Gold Coast, Bilish is captain of Palm Beach Currumbin and featured in the school’s National Schoolboy Cup success in 2024.

Bilish, 17, has been part of the Gold Coast ‘Future Titans’ program since 2022 and was already signed until 2028, but after impressing Hannay during pre-season training the club has moved quickly to extend his current deal by a further two years.

According to the club, Bilish’s new deal will see him upgraded to the Titans’ full-time squad in 2027 when he finishes school, before being elevated into the top 30 in 2028.

Titans director of football Scott Sattler said Bilish’s extension was a significant vote of confidence in both him and the club’s long-term vision under new coach Josh Hannay.

“Jai is exactly the type of player we want to build our future around,” Sattler said.

“He’s shown tremendous growth in a short period of time and has a real appetite to learn, improve and do the little things well. That mindset is critical to where we want to go as a club.

“We are in an exciting position where all our key playing positions of a similar age demographic are committing to the club, forming a generational playing group that should energise Titans fans.”

Bilish comes from a rugby league family with his older brother Roko and younger brother Ike also part of the Future Titans program.
