Roman Josi scores for the 200th time in NHL qualifying against the New York Islanders
Keystone
Roman Josi scores a decisive goal in the NHL. The Nashville captain secures victory for the Predators against the New York Islanders by scoring his 200th goal in the regular season.
After trailing 2-0 after 5:57 minutes and 3-2 in the 28th minute, the Predators turned the game around in New York, thanks in particular to a brace from Filip Forsberg, who was voted best player of the game. The second star went to Roman Josi, who set up the Swede’s goal in the 10th minute to make it 1:2 and then scored the 4:3 himself.
The player from Bern decided the game 1:14 minutes before the end of regulation time with a wrist shot. It was his 10th goal of the season (33 points in total) and his 200th in 1004 regular-season games. The Predators had previously suffered three consecutive defeats.
A second Swiss player hit the net on Sunday night, but for no value. Timo Meier scored the only goal for the New Jersey Devils, who lost 4-1 in Ottawa, ending his personal drought of six games.
An assist for Suter
The evening for the Swiss was also marked by the return of Pius Suter and Philipp Kurashev. The Zurich center from St. Louis, who had not played since December 27 (15 missed games) due to an ankle injury, even recorded an assist. However, the Blues lost 3:5 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Philipp Kurashev, on the other hand, failed to score in his first game since December 13. The Bern native, who plays for San Jose and had missed 19 games, also suffered a defeat. The Sharks lost 2:3 to Calgary.
