This year, the appetite for spectacle felt especially acute. Early in the evening, Sabrina Carpenter delivered one of the night’s most ethereal moments in a multi-tiered, beaded custom Valentino gown. While she didn’t take home an award, she decisively secured her place on every best-dressed list.
Closely behind her, Lady Gaga commanded attention in a feathered, sultry black gown, paired with slicked-back, bleach-blonde hair and matching brows. Sculpted, bronzed cheeks and a dramatic, smoky eye completed the look, delivering a vampy beauty moment calibrated to perfection.
Echoing a theme seen earlier this awards season, monochrome emerged as a dominant red carpet language. Olivia Dean, Tate McRae, Justin and Hailey Bieber, Billie Eilish, Rosé, Miley Cyrus and KATSEYE all leaned into black-and-white palettes, proving restraint can be just as impactful as excess.
In contrast, Zara Larsson injected her signature vibrancy into the evening. Performing during the Grammys Premiere Ceremony, she wore a custom golden-yellow bra and maxi skirt set by Germanier, intricately embellished with sequined and beaded floral motifs.
Chappell Roan, meanwhile, became one of the night’s most talked-about figures, pushing the naked dressing trend into provocative new territory.
Her wine-red Mugler gown, styled with crimped crimson curls, nodded to a Spring 1998 archival look from the house. The design’s most striking detail came via silver-ringed nipple piercings, with diaphanous fabric draped loosely across the torso, complemented by a low back and sweeping train.
