Main event: Mario BautistaMario Bautista, UFC 316 media day

Mario Bautista, UFC 316 media day

Record: 16-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC

Opponent: Vinicius Oliveira (23-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC)

Key wins: Patchy Mix, Jose Aldo, Ricky Simon

Misc.: Bautista had his eight-fight winning streak snapped this past October against Umar Nurmagomedov, who was coming off a title loss to Merab Dvalishvili. But that loss was on the heels of wins over former UFC champ Jose Aldo and former Bellator titleholder Patchy Mix, so a win over Oliveira would likely keep him in the picture.

Main event: Vinicius Oliveira

Record: 23-3 MMA, 4-0 UFC

Opponent: Mario Bautista (16-3 MMA, 10-3 UFC)

Key wins: Kyler Phillips, Said Nurmagomedov, Ricky Simon

Misc.: Oliveira got into the UFC with a slick finish on DWCS, and then debuted with a double bonus flying knee knockout. The level of competition has ramped up for him, and the finishes have dropped off with three straight decisions.

Record: 17-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC

Opponent: Kyoji Horiguchi (35-5 MMA, 8-2 UFC)

Key wins: Kai Kara-France, Francisco Figueiredo, Zhalgas Zhumagulov

Misc.: After five straight wins to open his UFC tenure, Albazi ran into former champ Brandon Moreno 15 months ago and dropped a decision. He’s been sidelined with surgeries and health issues since then. He was set to headline a Fight Night this past August against Tatsuro Taira, but had to pull out.

Co-main event: Kyoji Horiguchi

Record: 35-5 MMA, 8-2 UFC

Opponent: Amir Albazi (17-2 MMA, 5-1 UFC)

Key wins: Tagir Ulanbekov, Sergio Pettis, Ali Bagautinov, Neil Seery, Chico Camus

Misc.: Horiguchi fought for a UFC title in 2015. After years in Rizin and Bellator, he made his UFC return this past November and completed a wild return story with a win over Tagir Ulanbekov. Now he wants to make a serious push for another title shot more than a decade after the first one against Demetrious Johnson.
