On the surface, global markets started the new week looking totally fine.
More than fine, actually. European markets pushed higher. Britain’s FTSE 100 Index of blue chips hit a record high. In the US, the S&P 500 also pushed towards record territory. Oil dropped sharply, which is always good for economic growth and earnings outside the energy sector.
