Ipswich Town Women have continued the transformation of their squad with the signing of Leicester City’s Nelly Las on loan for the rest of the season.

The England Under-19 wing-back is the sixth signing made by Town since the start of the year as they attempt to fight their way out of relegation trouble in WSL 2.

They remain bottom of the table, three points below Portsmouth, but self-belief has been boosted by 1-1 draws in their past two matches against Bristol City and Newcastle United.

Las’ arrival follows that of Birmingham City forward Ava Baker, external last week and the 18-year-old said: “The set-up here looks great and I think it’s important to be somewhere which has everyone pushing towards the same goal.”

Ipswich will climb off the bottom if they win Sunday’s game at Portsmouth, with both sides currently having an identical goal difference.
