GIDDEY’S BULLS ACQUIRE VETERAN POINT GUARD
The Chicago Bulls, the NBA team of star Australian guard Josh Giddey, have acquired veteran PG Mike Conley from Minnesota as part of a three-team trade deal.
ESPN’S Shams Charania first reported the trade on X: “Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.”
At 38, Conley’s best days are behind him but he could serve as another ball handler alongside Giddey in Chicago. He is averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 assists per game this season, shooting just 32.2 per cent from the field.
Jaden Ivey was brought in from Detroit to add shooting depth for the Bulls; albeit as they farewelled Huerter, who was averaging 10.9 points per game this season on 45.5 per cent shooting. Ivey is averaging 8.2 points per game on 45 per cent shooting from the field.
