Riders along the Capital City Trail will encounter a closure and temporary diversion of the trail from mid-February.

 

Contractors are decommissioning a redundant gas regulator pit near the Park Street–Bennett Street intersection, and where the trail crosses Bennett Street.

 

A section of the trail will be closed during the works, and again later during reinstatement of the path.

 

Riders will take a slightly awkward diversion along the Park Street road alignment around the worksite.

 

Care will be needed at peak periods on this busy route. Note that there will initially be a temporary reinstatement of the path following works, with concrete restoration to occur later.

 

Works will start on Monday 16 February and continue through to Friday 20 March.

 

Because of open excavations the site will remain closed after working hours, with the diversion in place.
