The action kicked off about a month ahead of this year’s NBA trade deadline, with the Atlanta Hawks putting an end to the Trae Young era in January. Since then, we’ve dished out grades on the most notable moves.

Here’s a recap, with more expected before Thursday’s 3 p.m. ET deadline. (And we’ll update as major deals and grades happen.):

Feb. 3: Harden gone … again

Cavaliers get: James Harden
Clippers get: Darius Garland, second-round pick

That escalated quickly. A day after it was reported that these two teams had discussed this potential deal, it happened. Harden, 36, has now been traded four times in the past six seasons. The 26-year-old Garland, a two-time All-Star, is heading west, and the Clippers are getting younger in the backcourt.

Feb. 3: Celtics solve big issue

Celtics get: Nikola Vučević, second-round pick
Bulls get: Anfernee Simons, second-round pick

People have wondered for months if the Celtics would eventually flip Simons and his expiring contract before the trade deadline. It happened two days out, and Boston is adding a much-needed big man in the process.

Feb. 3: Pistons part with young guard

Bulls get: Jaden Ivey, Mike Conley
Pistons get: Kevin Huerter, Dario Šarić, first-round pick swap
Wolves get: Cash considerations

The Eastern Conference-leading Pistons are satisfying their desire for a shooter by acquiring Kevin Huerter and parting ways with Ivey, who’ll be a restricted free agent this summer. And the Timberwolves save some money and add a little flexibility for a possible Giannis Antetokounmpo pursuit. Due to how the contracts are structured, this deal will actually be two consecutive trades, but we’ll combine them into one three-team deal for grading purposes.

Feb. 3: Grizzlies start to pivot

Jazz get: Jaren Jackson Jr., John Konchar, Jock Londale and Vince Williams Jr.
Grizzlies get: Walter Clayton Jr., Taylor Hendricks, Georges Niang, Kyle Anderson and three first-round picks

Ja Morant is still on the roster, but it looks like Memphis is officially starting over. In Utah, the core moving forward will at least be Jackson, Ace Bailey, Lauri Markkanen and the improved Keyonte George.

Grizzlies grade: B+

Jan. 31: Cavs shake things up

Cavaliers get: Dennis Schröder, Keon Ellis, Emanuel Miller
Kings get: De’Andre Hunter
Bulls get: Dario Šarić, two second-round picks

This is a luxury tax-saving trade for the Cavs. It doesn’t take them out of the second apron threshold completely, but it gives them big-time financial savings as they try to push toward the top of the East.

Kings grade: B
Bulls grade: C+

Jan. 7: Trae’s days in ATL end

Wizards get: Trae Young
Hawks get: CJ McCollum, Corey Kispert

Somewhat surprisingly, no draft compensation was involved here. For the Wizards, it’s pretty simple: They need a lead guard to organize this young core. Atlanta wanted a culture change, and it got one.
