Following the Pool Draw conducted on December 3, 2025, World Rugby has confirmed Canada’s match schedule for Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027.

Canada will open the tournament versus Argentina at Brisbane Stadium in Brisbane | Meeanjin on Monday October 4.The match will mark the first Rugby World Cup meeting between the two nations.

The Canadians will then travel to Adelaide | Tarntanya to play Fiji at the Adelaide Oval on Sunday October 10. Canada and Fiji have faced each other in Rugby World Cup pool play on three occasions (1991, 1999, 2007).

Canada will close out pool play against Spain at Queensland Stadium in Townsville | Gurambilbarra on Saturday October 16. The two teams last met in July of 2025 where Canada’s Men’s Rugby Team pushed Spain to the limit but a penalty goal on the final play gave the Spanish a dramatic 24-23 win.

The eleventh edition of Men’s Rugby World Cup is the first under the expanded 24-team format, delivering more matches, more drama, and more opportunities for fans to experience the pinnacle of the sport. With seven consecutive weekends of rugby passion, the schedule has been designed to maximise attendance and global impact while prioritising player welfare and fan experience.

The calendar has been designed with balanced travel logistics to ensure fairness and high‑quality performance across all 24 teams, including a minimum of five rest days between matches. Kick-off times have been chosen to suit local conditions, including later starts in warmer cities such as Townsville and Brisbane.

“The wait is over, said World Rugby Chair Brett Robinson, this is the moment teams and fans have been waiting for and the start of their Rugby World Cup 2027 journey. We’ve assembled the most compelling match schedule to date, carefully designed to balance player welfare, fan experience and global reach. From the opening match in Perth | Boorloo to the final in Sydney | Wangal, get ready for six weeks of the greatest brand of rugby as our sport enters a new era of openness and entertainment with Australia 2027.”
