Dirk Ullrich has been hired as the head of AP Labs, the Australian government-run postal service Australia Post’s incubation arm.

Dirk Ullrich is joining Australia’s government-run postal service Australia Post to run its incubator arm, AP Labs.

He joins after spending three years as an innovation partner with Australian property investment company ISPT, which manages superannuation savings. His role involved coming up with ways the fund could use AI and data infrastructure in its operations.

Earlier in his career, he worked at ANZ, a bank, redesigning its corporate venturing and incubator framework. As part of that role, he built ventures, including an AI-powered property business.

AP Labs is the innovation and R&D arm of the postal service. It aims to scale new technologies for the company’s strategic advantage.
