Anthony Callea has sent fans into a frenzy after unveiling his seriously buff new physique on social media.
The 43-year-old singer-songwriter took to Instagram on Thursday to share a playful post-workout selfie, showing off his toned arms, powerful legs and a fresh buzz cut.
“Feeling your legs the next day is overrated. I feel as though I may need to be carried out of bed tomorrow morning,” Callea joked in the caption, posing in a singlet that highlighted his arm muscles and a leg band that drew attention to his strong lower body.

“I hope Tim brings me a vodka in the morning rather than a coffee,” he added with a wink emoji, referencing his husband, fellow performer Tim Campbell.
Friends and fans were quick to flood the comments section, with AFL WAG Alex Fevola posting a heart-eyes emoji, while others chimed in with muscle and fire reactions.
“OMG you look different!” one fan wrote, while another added: “Deadly bruz!”
The former Australian Idol star-who finished runner-up to Casey Donovan in the show’s 2004 season- also shared a carousel of snaps capturing the first week of 2026.
“The 1st week and a bit of 2026… Fireworks Friends, Family, Husband, time a bit of Melbourne, a bit of Adelaide and chucking laps with the top down….. Oh yeah…. What day is it again?” he captioned the post.
“Looking good as usual xx,” one follower commented, while another wrote: “Awesome photo Anthony.”
Since his Idol days, Callea has enjoyed more than two decades of success in the Australian music industry, with three albums debuting at number one on the ARIA charts, including his breakthrough hit The Prayer, released in December 2004.
He has also built a strong career on stage, starring in major musical productions including Wicked, Rent and Grease, and has appeared on television mentoring young performers on Ultimate School Musical: Fame and It Takes Two.
In 2016, the Melbourne-based star competed on Network Ten’s I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! and has been a regular fixture at Channel Nine’s Carols by Candlelight for more than 20 years.
Callea released his memoir Behind The Voice – Dietro La Voce in April 2023, which became a Top 5 bestseller nationwide.
He is also understood to remain close with Donovan years after their Idol showdown, with the pair famously reuniting in 2018 to perform Dare to Dream at the Sydney Opera House for Australia Day.
Donovan herself has undergone a major transformation over the past year, signing on as an ambassador for digital weight-loss clinic Juniper and sharing regular updates with fans about her health journey.
Earlier this month, the 37-year-old singer opened up about her experience in a candid Instagram video.
“I thought it would be fast, linear, easy- spoiler alert- it wasn’t,” she said.
She explained there were “pauses, slow weeks, and moments of comparison” early on.
“But that’s when I realised, this isn’t a quick fix, it’s real health,” she said.
