We just love the delightfully silly lookalike contests that have been popping up around the world lately, from Timothée Chalamet in New York last year, to the stars of Heated Rivalry in Sydney just last week.
And if you’ve been getting some FOMO, don’t worry. Melbourne will soon have its very own lookalike contest, in search of pop star Ed Sheeran. Taking place on the last day of his tour in Melbourne (Saturday, February 28), all Ed Sheeran lookalikes are invited to go to The District Docklands for this wholesome bit of fun. It’s free to attend, and according to event organisers, “You don’t need to be a carbon copy. You just need to be Ed-adjacent.”

To take part, simply turn up on the day in your best Ed-inspired fit. The judges will be looing for personality as much as resemblance, so be sure to bring the vibes. Bring your besties along for a bit of moral support, and step forward when its your turn. Remember to have fun with it!
There will be a buzzing atmosphere around the precinct, thanks to a DJ spinning tracks on the day, as well as a live musician.
The winner will take home a $500 gift card.
Not exactly ‘Perfect’? Urban Alley Brewery will also be running Happy Hour prices for anybody with ginger hair on concert days. Swing by for a quick drink before seeing the show at Marvel Stadium. Ed Sheeran will be playing in Melbourne on February 26, 27 and 28.
