The ICC T20 Men’s World Cup 2026 takes place across Sri Lanka and India this February and March.

Under the captaincy of Mitchell Marsh Australia is looking to lift the T20 World Cup trophy for just the second time in its history.

Hopes are high, but it’s been a challenging and disrupted lead up to the tournament with Australia humbled 3-0 in a recent warm up series against Pakistan.

There have also been untimely injuries to several key players including hard-hitting batsman Tim David and fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood.

The Aussie selectors have been forced to make several late changes with Ben Dwarshuis replacing Cummins and Matt Renshaw replacing Matthew Short.

Fast bowler Sean Abbott has also been called into the World Cup squad as a reserve should Josh Hazlewood fail prove his fitness, while Steve Smith is understood to be on standby if required.
