Free bulky waste collections are set to return to Derby as part of new budget proposals.
The “compactor days” would be reintroduced in a bid to reduce fly-tipping across the city, and come six years after the service was stopped.
The collections will allow residents to dispose of unwanted bulky household items such as fridge freezers, mattresses, wardrobes and sofas, free of charge.
“These initiatives reinforce our ongoing commitment to delivering cleaner, safer, and more resilient neighbourhoods for all residents,” a Derby City Council spokesperson said.
